Operations Associate - Crypto Hedge Fund

About the role

hermeneutic research is a proprietary trading firm running research-driven discretionary and systematic strategies and long-term investments. It is looking for an Operations Associate for a hands-on, fast-moving role in a crypto-native hedge fund, working closely with trading, technology and compliance and reporting to the COO team.

Key responsibilities

• Crypto operations: execute wallet management workflows across hot, cold and MPC custody solutions, and monitor and document staking, bridging and smart contract interactions
• Own trade lifecycle processes: trade capture, margin tracking, settlements and reconciliation
• Middle and back office: daily reconciliations, margin management, collateral monitoring and trade settlements
• Maintain data accuracy across fund admin, prime broker and custody partners, and own internal dashboards, operational reporting and procedure documentation
• Run compliance procedures, coordinate vendors and improve workflows between research, trading, compliance and technology teams
• Track and report operational KPIs and process metrics
• Support engineering on system monitoring and incident documentation, help with business continuity testing, and support middle/back office technology platforms

Required profile

• 5-7 years in operations at a hedge fund, trading firm or crypto financial services business
• Bachelor's degree required; finance, technical or business education preferred
• Direct experience with digital asset operations such as custody, settlements and DeFi workflows strongly preferred
• Attention to detail, comfort in fast-paced, high-stakes environments, and ability to manage multiple workstreams
• Clear, direct communication across teams; exposure to exchange or counterparty operations is a bonus
