Group HR Business Partner – Hong Kong & Mainland China

About the role

Our client, a well‑established premium Hong Kong group, is creating a Group HR Business Partner role at its headquarters. Reporting directly to the CHRO, the position bridges corporate strategy and business execution across Hong Kong and Mainland China.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business unit heads to design and execute commercial people plans.
• Provide data‑driven insights to the CHRO for headcount planning and organisational design.
• Act as a change agent to drive corporate culture and performance improvement.
• Serve as subject‑matter expert on Hong Kong Employment Ordinance and Mainland China labour laws.
• Handle complex employee‑relations issues and cross‑border labour disputes, mitigating business risk.
• Review and align group HR policies to ensure regional compliance.
• Guide leaders through performance management, succession planning and talent mapping.
• Identify capability gaps and design retention and engagement programmes.

Required profile

• 6+ years of HR experience, preferably as an HRBP or HR Manager.
• Experience working within a Hong Kong‑based group or conglomerate.
• Proven track record managing HR matters for operations in both Hong Kong and Mainland China.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence C‑suite stakeholders.
• Fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
