IT Support Engineer

About the role

Veolia Hong Kong Holding Limited, part of the Veolia Group, is looking for an IT Support Engineer based in Fanling. The role covers network operations support, firewall and cybersecurity administration, incident resolution and end-user support for the local office.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the daily operation of the office LAN/WAN network across multi-floor environments.
• Assist in configuring, cabling and troubleshooting Cisco switches and access points (including Meraki WiFi), and support basic VLAN, trunking and Layer 2/3 setups.
• Maintain firewalls (FortiGate / Palo Alto) and update security policies, NAT rules and VPN user accounts.
• Provide Tier-1 and Tier-2 support for network and cybersecurity issues, troubleshoot connectivity bottlenecks and help end users.
• Keep cabling diagrams, network topologies and IT asset inventories up to date.
• Liaise with local ISPs and network providers on maintenance, circuit installation and outage reporting.

Required profile

• Degree in Information Technology or a related discipline; a higher diploma or associated degree with CCNA and good network experience is also acceptable.
• 2-3 years of hands-on IT network support, preferably in a System Integrator or large company.
• Good spoken Cantonese and basic operational English.
• Willingness to learn, good problem-solving mindset and a proactive team player.

Required skills

• Cisco CCNA (mandatory); Fortinet NSE 4 is a strong advantage.
• Networking basics (TCP/IP, VLAN, subnetting, routing) and basic Cisco IOS CLI.
• Basic FortiGate firewall administration; basic Meraki knowledge is an advantage.
• Basic cloud exposure (e.g. AWS) is a plus.
