Lead Engineer, Trading Platform Engineering

About the role

Lead the design, development, and optimization of Bullish's high‑performance trading platform. You will work on mission‑critical systems that power spot and derivatives trading, ensuring ultra‑low latency, reliability, and deterministic behavior.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and tune high‑performance services using C and Java.
• Engineer performance‑critical components across kernel and user space, focusing on memory, scheduling, I/O, and networking paths.
• Develop and optimize networking pipelines (multicast/unicast UDP, TCP) and implement kernel‑bypass or fast‑path solutions such as DPDK and XDP.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to eliminate tail latency and improve determinism.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, reliability engineering, and code quality standards.

Required profile

• Passionate about treating development as a craft and owning outcomes from concept to deployment.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity, shaping processes, and driving technical excellence.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with a focus on high‑impact, low‑latency challenges.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C and Java.
• Deep knowledge of Linux kernel internals and user‑space interaction.
• Experience with advanced networking, including UDP, TCP, multicast, DPDK, XDP, and kernel‑bypass techniques.
• Expertise in low‑latency, high‑throughput system design and optimization.
