Senior Mechanical Engineer – Precision Tools

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join Bosch’s Power Tools Measuring Tools Division in Hong Kong. The role focuses on the development of high‑precision levelling tools for both private and professional users, driving innovation in mechanical design and calibration.

Key responsibilities

• Define product layouts and design high‑precision mechanical components and assemblies using Pro‑Engineer (Creo) 3D modelling and 2D drafting.
• Develop sophisticated fixtures and calibration processes for precision assemblies.
• Perform mechanical analysis, including tolerance stack‑up, FEM/CAE simulations, Design of Experiments and physical prototyping to validate performance.
• Lead comprehensive design reviews at project gates, ensuring structural integrity and Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/DFA) compliance.
• Act as the in‑house authority on plastic part design, material selection, tooling architecture and injection‑molding optimisation.
• Conduct root‑cause and defect analysis and drive corrective actions.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in precision mechanical product design, preferably in power‑tool or measuring‑tool environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to apply scientific and mathematical methods to engineering problems.
• Excellent communication skills for leading design reviews and collaborating across functions.
