Senior Product Engineer

About the role

Vuly designs and manufactures outdoor play equipment sold worldwide. As a Senior Product Engineer you will turn validated concepts and prototypes into fully engineered, safe, and durable products that can withstand real‑world backyard use.

Key responsibilities

• Lead structural design, load and stress analysis, and material selection to ensure products meet strength, durability and safety standards.
• Detail parts and assemblies for manufacturing methods such as moulding, extrusion and fabrication, including tolerancing, fastening and assembly sequences.
• Plan and execute physical and simulated testing (structural, fatigue, weathering, compliance) and interpret results and FEA data to validate designs.
• Manage compliance with Australian and international playground safety standards, prepare technical documentation and coordinate certification.
• Investigate field failures and warranty returns, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement engineering changes.
• Develop tooling and unit cost estimates with manufacturing partners and flag margin‑impacting design choices.
• Package engineering drawings, specifications, test evidence and compliance files for seamless hand‑over to manufacturing and quality teams.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Product or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent commercial product‑engineering experience.
• 3+ years of experience engineering physical consumer or outdoor products from prototype through to production.
• Strong 3D CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or equivalent).
