System Administrator – IT Support Engineer for Hong Kong Hedge Fund

About the role

Our client, a global multi‑strategy hedge fund, is looking for a hands‑on IT Support Engineer to be the primary technology resource for its Hong Kong office. The role sits within a globally distributed technology organization and requires independent work while partnering closely with colleagues across multiple regions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality desktop and end‑user support, resolving technical issues quickly and professionally.
• Build, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot workstations, laptops, peripherals and multi‑monitor setups.
• Administer user accounts and access permissions via Active Directory, Entra ID and Microsoft 365.
• Support mobile devices and endpoint management tools while ensuring security and compliance.
• Manage physical network infrastructure, including IDF/MDF closets, patching, cabling, labeling and rack organization.
• Perform first‑line network troubleshooting covering connectivity, switching, wireless issues and general infrastructure incidents.
• Coordinate with global technology teams, external vendors, telecom providers and building management as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in desktop support, infrastructure support or system administration.
• Strong experience with Windows 10/11 environments and familiarity with macOS platforms.
• Hands‑on administration experience with Active Directory, Entra ID and Microsoft 365.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, structured cabling).
• Excellent communication skills in English and ability to provide professional user support under pressure.
