System Engineer – TETRA Communications (Hong Kong)

About the role

Airbus Secure Land Communications is seeking a System Engineer to join its Public Safety and Security business unit in Hong Kong. You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning and maintenance of TETRA communication systems, ensuring high availability and performance for critical public safety operations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, and maintain TETRA systems, application software and management tools.
• Manage third‑party suppliers for system integration of sub‑systems and applications.
• Liaise with product lines and vendors to resolve technical issues.
• Proactively ensure maximum system and infrastructure availability.
• Monitor application performance, identify bottlenecks and work with developers on fixes.
• Maintain security, backup and redundancy strategies.
• Participate in the design of information and operational systems for tenders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma/Certificate in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 8 years of experience installing, commissioning and troubleshooting telecommunications systems.
• Strong IT literacy with knowledge of virtualization and information systems such as Oracle, VMware and TCP/IP.
• Fluent in English and Chinese.
• Willingness to travel across the APAC region.
• Extensive experience may compensate for lower formal qualifications.
