Vice President, HR Business Partner

About the role

The Vice President, HR Business Partner will act as a strategic advisor to business leaders in Mizuho’s Hong Kong operations. Reporting to a senior HRBP, you will align people strategies with organisational goals and drive HR initiatives that enhance employee experience and support growth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance on employee relations, conflict resolution, performance management and disciplinary actions.
• Support recruitment, workforce planning, organisational design and succession planning.
• Collaborate with managers to identify talent gaps and implement recruitment and retention strategies.
• Drive performance management processes, including goal setting, coaching, feedback and development planning.
• Support leadership development, employee engagement and culture‑building initiatives.
• Analyse HR data and workforce trends to identify risks, opportunities and improvement areas.
• Assist with change‑management initiatives related to organisational transformation.
• Ensure consistent application of HR policies, procedures and employment laws.

Required profile

• At least 10 years of HR business partnering or generalist experience in banking, financial services or multinational corporations.
• Strong knowledge of Hong Kong HR practices, employment law and employee relations.
• Proven ability to influence and advise senior managers.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or related field.
• Experience in fast‑paced, matrixed or growth‑oriented organisations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HRIS systems.
• Experience using people analytics tools.
