2027 Trading and Research Summer Internship

About the role

Capula Investment Management, a global hedge fund managing over $35 billion in assets, runs a Summer Internship Programme for a small cohort of motivated students interested in trading. Interns are embedded in a specific team and work alongside portfolio managers and traders, developing quantitative strategies and models that feed into real trading decisions. The internship runs for ten weeks from June to August, starting with an orientation week in London.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with traders, portfolio managers and quantitative researchers on defined projects leading directly to trading decisions
• Receive and take part in training in financial modelling, analysis, research methods and trading strategies
• Evaluate market conditions and economic data
• Help develop research ideas supporting the desk's trading strategies
• Develop tools and reports to aid trade analysis and identification

Required profile

• Student graduating in 2027 or 2028 with a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Economics, Finance or a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or Engineering
• Demonstrable interest in financial markets and trading; no previous finance experience required
• Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Python and Excel
• C++, R and Java are also beneficial but not essential
