International Director, 20th and 21st Century Art, Asia Pacific

About the role

Based in Hong Kong, this senior role drives revenue growth and market leadership across Western and Asian Modern & Contemporary art categories in Asia. It focuses on originating, securing and transacting high-value works across auctions, private sales and curated exhibitions, and acts as a key commercial leader bridging Western and Asian markets. The position also leads the execution of global category strategies in Asia, aligned with sales, exhibitions and long-term market development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead business-getting across Western and Asian Modern & Contemporary categories, securing high-value consignments and growing auction and private sales revenue
• Grow market share and revenue, and identify major collections and single-owner opportunities, including cross-category propositions
• Serve as senior relationship owner for top-tier collectors, advisors and trade clients, working with Client Strategy teams to convert prospects
• Advise on pricing, market positioning and sale strategy, contribute to catalogues, research and storytelling, and represent the brand at exhibitions, art fairs and client events
• Share market intelligence, pricing insights and client feedback with global category leadership, and work with specialists, marketing and operations teams

Required profile

• Proven track record as a senior business-getter, with major consignments secured and significant sales revenue generated
• Deep expertise in Western and Asian Modern & Contemporary art markets
• Established network of collectors, advisors, galleries and museums
• Ability to lead complex processes and collaborate across regions and functions

Required skills

• Fluency in English and Cantonese and/or Mandarin
• Exceptional client-facing skills, with the ability to influence, advise and close at the highest level

Primarily based in Hong Kong, with regional and international travel as required, office-based with frequent client-facing engagement and occasional light physical activity.
