Principal Consultant – Payments SME

About the role

Capco is seeking a Principal Consultant with deep payments expertise to help leading financial institutions in Hong Kong and the wider Asia‑Pacific region design, transform and modernise their payments capabilities. You will act as a trusted advisor, guiding senior stakeholders through strategy definition, current‑state assessment and the creation of target operating models.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic and transformation initiatives across retail banking payments, optimizing processes, operating models and technology.
• Facilitate workshops, conduct assessments and define business requirements, target‑state architecture and delivery roadmaps.
• Design end‑to‑end payment solutions for domestic and cross‑border ecosystems, ensuring alignment with regulatory and customer needs.
• Provide market insights, emerging technology trends and innovation recommendations to senior client stakeholders.
• Develop high‑quality presentations, executive papers and client deliverables.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams, manage client relationships and support business development within the Banking & Payments practice.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in retail banking payments with strong technology and solution design experience.
• Proven experience leading discovery workshops, requirements gathering and solution architecture engagements.
• Strong understanding of domestic and cross‑border payment ecosystems, including regulatory and compliance considerations.
• Experience delivering large‑scale payments transformation programmes in financial services.
• Excellent consulting, stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Commercial awareness and ability to engage with business and technology stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience working with leading financial institutions in Hong Kong and the broader Asia‑Pacific region.
