About the role
The Purchasing Manager – Electronic Components will lead global commodity strategies, supplier negotiations and procurement execution for active, passive and electromechanical parts. The role ensures cost‑effective sourcing, supply continuity and fast time‑to‑market for hardware product lines.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement long‑term procurement strategies for electronic components worldwide.
- Identify, qualify and audit manufacturers, suppliers and distributors.
- Drive quarterly cost‑reduction initiatives, negotiate volume pricing, rebates and perform should‑cost modeling on complex BOMs.
- Mitigate single‑source risks through dual‑sourcing and strategic buffer stocks.
- Partner with R&D, hardware engineering and NPI teams to recommend high‑availability, cost‑effective components and manage PCN/EOL changes.
- Draft, negotiate and manage MSAs, VPAs and VMI agreements.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business or equivalent.
- 5+ years of strategic sourcing or direct procurement experience in electronics, hardware or high‑tech manufacturing.
- Proficiency in reading BOMs and datasheets to identify viable alternatives.
- Strong commercial negotiation, data analytics and contract management abilities.
