Strategic Planning Director / Chief of Staff to CEO

About the role

AAO is seeking a Strategic Planning Director who will also serve as Chief of Staff to the CEO. This senior position sits at the heart of the organization, partnering directly with the CEO to shape strategy, drive execution, and lead high‑impact projects that accelerate growth.

Key responsibilities

• Partner closely with the CEO to define, prioritize, and execute AAO’s strategic initiatives.
• Lead annual strategic planning cycles, business reviews, and growth programs.
• Conduct market, industry, competitive and consumer research to inform decision‑making.
• Develop strategic recommendations and actionable business plans for the executive team.
• Oversee the CEO Office and manage company‑wide PMO processes, governance frameworks and performance tracking.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams to ensure timely delivery of strategic projects, anticipate risks and remove obstacles.
• Lead confidential, high‑priority projects on behalf of the CEO, including partnerships, investments and new market entry.
• Identify, evaluate and develop new business opportunities, building business cases, commercialization plans and partnership strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience combining top‑tier strategy consulting problem‑solving with hands‑on operational execution.
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset and ability to build and scale new ventures.
• Excellent judgment, discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
• Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional initiatives and influencing senior leadership.
