Accounting Manager, Hong Kong

About the role

Sleek, a provider of back-office software and AI for micro-SMEs, is looking for an Accounting Manager to lead its Hong Kong accounting operations. The role mentors a team of accountants, drives AI and digital automation, and keeps financial compliance flawless across client portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor and evaluate a team of accountants and Team Leaders, with scheduled two-way feedback
• Identify and implement at least two workflow optimisations to remove manual tasks
• Review the preparation and finalisation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management accounts in line with SME-FRS
• Oversee Hong Kong Profits Tax computations, Employer's Returns and other tax filings, and liaise with the Inland Revenue Department on behalf of clients
• Integrate AI tools (e.g. Copilot, ChatGPT, cloud tools) into daily accounting work to improve accuracy and speed
• Manage a client portfolio and coordinate accountants, auditors and clients for the annual statutory audit

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Qualified member of HKICPA, ACCA or an equivalent body
• At least 5 years of accounting experience, including 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role
• Previous experience in a CPA firm, professional services or business outsourcing firm is highly preferred
• Excellent written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of HKFRS, SME-FRS, Hong Kong tax law and the Hong Kong Companies Ordinance
• Cloud accounting software (Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Kingdee) and advanced Excel
• Project management skills and an AI and automation mindset are a strong advantage
