Associate Director – Conduct & Compliance Risk – North Asia

About the role

The Associate Director, Conduct & Compliance Risk – North Asia will sit within ANZ’s Institutional Division Conduct and Compliance Centre of Expertise. You will embed best‑practice conduct and compliance risk management across Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and Japan, supporting the first line of defence and partnering with frontline teams, risk experts and governance groups.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and apply Group Risk policies, standards and regulatory obligations for Conduct and Compliance risk across North Asia.
• Lead impact assessments and implementation activities arising from regulatory, policy or risk‑standard changes.
• Execute regulatory change programmes across Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and Japan, including regional governance and Institutional oversight.
• Inform inherent and residual risk assessments for Conduct and Regulatory risks across Institutional value chains and countries.
• Conduct thematic reviews to identify control gaps, weaknesses and emerging risks.
• Partner with business teams to design, uplift and embed effective controls aligned to enterprise risk frameworks.
• Prepare risk insights, analysis and reporting for senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in conduct and compliance risk management within an institutional banking environment.
• Ability to lead regulatory change initiatives and impact assessments across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong analytical capability to assess inherent and residual risks.
• Experience collaborating with frontline, risk‑expert and governance teams.
