Chief Agency Officer, Hong Kong & Macau

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Distribution Officer, Hong Kong & Macau, this position leads the Agency channel in Hong Kong and Macau. It drives sales growth through the agency channel in line with the company's strategic priorities, including growing the number and productivity of agencies, increasing digital adoption and developing High Net Worth (HNW) and Mainland Chinese Visitors (MCV) business. The role manages the Agency Force, its sales, productivity and recruitment goals, and its communication, compliance and performance management.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver sales and recruitment targets for the agency channel, including NBEV targets, through the Agency Sales team and product-line and Agency Development teams
• Partner with product lines, marketing and operations to provide suitable products, compensation, operational support and tools, and remove barriers to efficient distribution
• Lead digital tools adoption, recruitment profiles for agencies and other key initiatives
• Lead the Agency Contracting and Agency Recruitment teams to recommend sales compensation and incentives
• Manage the people, property and infrastructure needed for the agency channel, including agency compliance capability, staffing plans and budgets
• Drive HNW and MCV initiatives such as payment solutions, customer communications, onboarding experience, channel expansion, product strategy and research, and increase their penetration

Required profile

• Strong understanding of meeting customers' financial needs through insurance and protection products and services
• Ability to implement effective agency distribution models and strategies to grow a profitable business
• Track record of growing an insurance business in a relatively mature market
• Ability to recruit, motivate and retain high-calibre professionals
• Leadership, coaching and strong verbal and written communication skills
• Progressive attitude, curiosity, optimism and willingness to take managed risks
