Front Office Python Developer

About the role

Eclipse Trading is a proprietary derivatives trading firm founded in 2007, with offices in Hong Kong, Sydney, Shanghai and Chicago. It is looking for a Python Developer to join its Rapid Application Development (RAD) team, which works closely with traders and quantitative analysts to build and optimise Python solutions for pricing and trading. The position is based in Hong Kong.

Key responsibilities

• Enhance and expand the Python-based application development framework
• Build and maintain Python trading applications with traders and quantitative analysts
• Lead projects end-to-end, from analysis and design through to implementation and delivery
• Train end users and promote software development best practices
• Provide Tier 3 production support as needed

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional experience in Python development
• Ability to design, extend and maintain clean, efficient, production-grade Python applications and libraries
• University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Background in trading system development, or prior front office or quant development experience, is highly desirable
