Senior Trading Support Engineer

About the role

Eclipse Trading is a proprietary trading firm founded in 2007, with over 110 employees across four offices including its Hong Kong headquarters. It is looking for a Senior Trading Support Engineer to join its global Infrastructure and Technology Service team. The role covers the upkeep of trading IT systems, end-to-end support of the trading application and direct support to the trading teams, in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own critical incidents: identify root causes, mitigate impact and lead post-mortems to prevent recurrence.
• Keep distributed, multi-server trading systems running smoothly.
• Provide hands-on trade floor support and direct application assistance to traders.
• Oversee UAT coordination and production software releases to maintain stability and performance.
• Work with Operations and Development teams to troubleshoot complex production issues.
• Design and implement monitoring and logging solutions.
• Automate and optimise workflows through scripts and tools.
• Identify gaps and suggest better processes or tools, and take part in occasional after-hours support and testing.
• Mentor and guide junior team members.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience in a trading support or similar technical role.
• Proven track record of driving change and delivering results in a collaborative environment.
• Exceptional written and spoken English and strong interpersonal skills in a fast-paced trading environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Linux environments.
• Scripting languages such as Python, Perl or PHP.
• Passion for building quick, maintainable, practical and scalable script solutions.
