Mechanical Technician

About the role

DayOne is seeking a Mechanical Technician to support the operation of high‑performance data centre facilities. The role involves maintaining and repairing critical mechanical equipment that ensures reliable cooling and power for our global infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, FWU/CRAH units, heat exchangers and related systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment under supervision, including component replacement.
• Support chilled‑water system troubleshooting and restoration activities.
• Develop and follow Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
• Conduct routine inspections, document findings and update maintenance logs.
• Respond to emergency cooling or mechanical incidents, applying LOTO and chemical handling procedures.

Required profile

• Technical background in mechanical systems, preferably in an industrial or data‑centre environment.
• Ability to work safely under supervision and follow documented procedures.
• Attention to detail for identifying abnormal equipment conditions.

Required skills

• Mechanical maintenance of pumps, motors and valves.
• Operation and service of FWU/CRAH units and heat exchangers.
• Chilled‑water system troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of LOTO and chemical handling safety procedures.
