Private Sales Specialist, Jewels and Watches, Asia Pacific

About the role

Christie's is looking for a Specialist, Private Sales, Jewels and Watches, Asia Pacific. The role leads private sales of jewellery and watches in Asia, expanding a growing global private sales team that has recorded record-breaking sales in recent years. It works discreetly with international buyers and sellers, partners with the International Head of Jewels, the Global Managing Director for Luxury and other Private Sales leaders, and supports global sales while driving sales locally.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sales individually and act as a key communicator across the global Christie's team, identifying and connecting opportunities through the global network
• Build a robust pipeline, manage inventory and opportunities, and organise pricing meetings with the relevant teams
• Maintain margins on private sale deals to meet profitability targets and the overall budget
• Cultivate long-term relationships with novice and seasoned jewellery collectors, meeting clients on-site and off-site, attending events, exhibitions and fairs
• Champion Client Strategy and Object Intelligence initiatives to improve major client relationships
• Collaborate with the Global Head of Private Sales, Global Head of Jewels, GMD and regional managers to set and implement the global Private Sales strategy
• Review key clients and regions to activate private sale opportunities and project-manage key regional projects
• Work with the Sales Director and International Jewels Private Sale Specialist on process improvements and business efficiencies

Required profile

• Minimum of 8 years of experience with high-value and/or rare jewels or watches, preferably in the secondary market, with significant client management experience
• Fluent in English and Mandarin
• Proactive, able to present information clearly and handle confidential information with discretion
