Senior Quantitative Analyst

About the role

BMLL, a provider of harmonised Level 3, 2 and 1 historical data and analytics for global equities, ETFs, futures and US equity options, is seeking an experienced Quantitative Analyst to join its product team in Hong Kong. The role reports to the Head of Data Science for EMEA and APAC and combines data analysis with client-facing work, using the BMLL product suite to support marketing and sales.

Key responsibilities

• Use the BMLL product suite to support marketing and sales, helping sell the product suite and contribute to business growth
• Work with the go-to-market team to promote the product, provide customer support and gather feedback that shapes the product
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and turn them into data-driven solutions, keeping code and methodology documentation clear and reproducible
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
• Assist in technical prototyping for external partners and clients using a petabyte-scale data lake
• Support the product team in developing and managing the product roadmap

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of quantitative analysis experience, with a minimum MSc in a quantitative discipline such as STEM or Economics
• At least 3 years of experience with order book market data, and familiarity with derivatives, equities and fixed income
• Excellent spoken and written English and Mandarin; Cantonese is preferable but not required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to tight deadlines, with strong analytical, problem-solving and teamwork skills

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, including NumPy, pandas, Polars and scikit-learn
• Experience with large datasets
• Desirable: other OOP languages, Snowflake/SQL or other databases, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and buy-side experience
