Test Engineer

About the role

Join Hitachi Rail as a Test Engineer and contribute to the installation, testing, and commissioning of cutting‑edge railway signalling systems. You will work alongside senior engineers, gaining hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, safety‑critical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support site installation, deployment, testing, and commissioning of railway signalling systems, including basic inspections and troubleshooting.
• Identify and report issues discovered during testing, providing first‑level analysis to assist software and engineering teams.
• Prepare and maintain test reports and project documentation under team guidance.
• Support quality‑assurance, safety, and compliance activities in line with project and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and apply industry standards such as CENELEC and IRSE practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong academic background with a passion for railway systems and automation.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication abilities.
• Adaptability to fast‑paced project demands.
• Prior internship or project experience in railway, signalling, or transportation systems is an advantage.
• Fluent in Cantonese and English.
• Willingness to work night shifts and onsite as required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CENELEC standards
• Familiarity with IRSE practices
